Even though I am not personally a lover of skirts, I do find them to be very versatile. By changing the top and shoes, you can completely change your look. I used a soft crepe for this skirt.
Cutting any asymmetrical garment requires the full pattern to be placed on the right side of the fabric, as illustrated here.
