My Pattern Drafting Book is Here!

My first edition pattern drafting book has finally been published. Read all about the first and second editions of this book below.

The journey of creating my pattern drafting book began back in 2009. At the time, I was exploring different approaches to drafting the basic bodice block—methods that were quite different from what I had learned at fashion school. Through extensive research and experimentation, I developed a technique that felt intuitive, versatile, and easy to teach. It didn’t take long before I was confidently sharing it with my students.

This book was born out of that discovery and is designed for anyone passionate about sewing or fashion design. Whether you’re a self-guided learner, a hobbyist, or an aspiring designer, this resource will help you develop solid drafting skills while encouraging creativity.

One of the things I’m most proud of is that the book is suitable for all body types and sizes. You’ll learn how to take precise body measurements using a clearly illustrated measurement chart and use those to draft custom-fit patterns for dresses, skirts, jackets, trousers, sportswear, and more.

The second edition book is now available at AMAZON and other stores.

Learn about:

Blocks and patterns
Facings and interfacings
Dart manipulation
Collars and necklines

The basics of pattern grading
Working with and drafting asymmetrical patterns
Working with stretch fabrics, bias fabrics, and so much more
