Sleeveless Shift Dress With Rick Rack Trim

Happy New Year!

The festive season is over, so its time to get back into the sewing projects. I will also try to master this camera, to improve my photography.
I used Snowy Linen for this shift dress and Taffeta lining. I wanted some kind of embellishment and opted for Rick Rack trim. This trim certainly brings back beautiful memories of all the dresses, embellished with rick rack, ribbons and other trims, my late mom made for my sister and I.

To sew the trim to the fabric, it is best to mark the fabric first with a fabric pencil.

Pin/tack the trim on the marked line.

Machine stitch the trim in place.

Turn under the raw ends when you start and end in the centre of the fabric and machine stitch in place.

If you have to join the ends, it is best to overlap the two ends, while matching the curves up.

Have a great week further!
