Cerise Pink Ruffled Blouse

Hello Everyone!

In the past few years, ruffles have certainly asserted their dominance on the runways and are returning as one of the hottest trends. Ruffles on any garment create a look that is instantly chic.

I used Taffeta for this blouse because I knew it would create the effect on the neckline which I wanted.

Whether ruffles are on necklines, hems, sleeves, or running down the center front, it will instantly elevate any garment to the next level.

To achieve this fullness of the ruffles, I generally cut my ruffle strips double the length of the edge on which it will be sewn. For more info, please read my post Three Ways To Gather Fabric.

I opted for a narrow hem for the edge of the ruffle. The edge of a ruffle can also be bound with a contrasting or same colour fabric for an interesting effect.

I opted for a turn-up cuff on the sleeve to create an interesting and flattering silhouette.

Have a great week and stay safe!
